24Markets (24markets.com): ASC Caution and CNMV Warning

24Markets, operating through 24markets.com, has been identified by securities regulators in both Canada and Spain. The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) has placed 24Markets.com on its Investment Caution List, while Spain’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) previously listed 24MARKETS.COM among unauthorised entities.

The Spanish warning dates back to 8 April 2024, while the Canadian caution provides a more recent regulatory concern surrounding the same website. For anyone who has already deposited money with 24Markets, the priority should now be preserving the real payment trail rather than relying on balances or profits displayed inside a trading account.

Already paid/invested with 24markets.com? Preserve the payment trail and submit your transaction information for review, and recovery options.

No upfront recovery fees. Fees are payable only after a successful recovery.

24Markets.com Has Drawn Warnings in Canada and Spain

The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) maintains an Investment Caution List to identify companies, individuals and websites that may pose a high risk to investors. 24Markets.com appears on that list.

The regulatory concern is not new. On 8 April 2024, Spain’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) recorded 24MARKETS, 24MARKETS.COM and DEDA CAPITAL MARKETS (PTY) LTD in its public database of warnings concerning unauthorised entities.

These findings matter because registration and authorisation determine whether a financial business is permitted to provide particular regulated services in a jurisdiction. Claims about being incorporated or regulated somewhere else do not themselves establish permission to offer regulated investment services to residents of Alberta or Spain.

AssetVault has encountered the same fundamental issue in other regulator-listed investment platforms, including doronzo-ag.net and TheQuantaFlux: what matters to someone who has already invested is not simply what a website claims about itself, but whether the money that was actually transferred can be independently followed.

Already Paid 24Markets? Preserve the Evidence

If you have already deposited money with 24Markets, preserve your financial records before sending anything further.

The most useful evidence includes:

  • bank statements and transfer confirmations;
  • beneficiary names, account numbers and IBANs;
  • cryptocurrency transaction hashes (TXIDs);
  • sending and receiving wallet addresses;
  • the cryptocurrency and blockchain network used;
  • exchange deposit and withdrawal records;
  • credit or debit card payment records;
  • screenshots showing deposits and account balances;
  • trading-account transaction history;
  • withdrawal requests and responses;
  • emails, WhatsApp, Telegram and SMS communications;
  • telephone numbers and names used by representatives;
  • invoices and payment instructions; and
  • any agreements, account documents or identification records exchanged with the platform.

This evidence should be preserved even if the 24Markets account remains accessible. Website records can change. Bank records, cryptocurrency TXIDs and exchange records provide an independent basis for reconstructing how money moved.

A displayed trading balance is particularly important to separate from the underlying payment trail. A dashboard showing deposits, profits or an available balance does not independently establish that an equivalent amount is being held for the customer or can actually be withdrawn.

Withdrawal Problems and Further Payment Requests

If you are trying to withdraw money from 24Markets and another payment is being requested, document the demand before transferring anything further.

AssetVault has not established that every 24Markets customer receives the same withdrawal conditions. Specific fees or payment demands should therefore not be attributed to the platform without evidence from the individual case.

However, if additional money is requested as a condition for releasing an existing balance—whether described as a tax, withdrawal charge, verification fee, insurance payment, AML requirement, blockchain fee or account upgrade—the request should be independently examined rather than assumed to be legitimate.

Save the complete message, invoice or payment instruction. If a bank account is supplied, preserve the beneficiary information. If cryptocurrency is requested, retain the wallet address, network, asset and any instructions showing who requested the payment.

This approach is also important when another company subsequently claims it can retrieve money lost through a trading platform. AssetVault’s Debt Resolution Federation investigation illustrates why a second demand for money following an investment loss requires independent scrutiny.

Follow the Money, Not the Dashboard

For bank payments, each transfer should be placed into a chronological schedule showing the date, amount, beneficiary, beneficiary account, receiving institution and payment reference. If 24Markets supplied different beneficiary accounts over time, preserve every set of instructions.

For cryptocurrency, retain the TXID for each payment together with the cryptocurrency, blockchain network, originating exchange or wallet and destination address. Subsequent blockchain movements may provide additional tracing information even if the trading website later becomes unavailable.

Communications should then be matched with the transactions. For example, a message instructing a customer to send a particular amount to a particular bank account or wallet can connect the payment itself with the circumstances under which it was requested.

This is why independently verifiable records matter more than screenshots alone. AssetVault has similarly emphasized transaction evidence in its Delio investigation, particularly where cryptocurrency forms part of the payment trail.

AssetVault Recovery Assessment

The regulatory history surrounding 24Markets.com should not be ignored. The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) has included 24Markets.com on its Investment Caution List, which the regulator uses for companies, individuals and websites that may pose a high risk to investors.

Separately, Spain’s Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) recorded 24MARKETS.COM on 8 April 2024 in its warnings database under the category of unauthorised entities. That entry also identifies 24MARKETS and DEDA CAPITAL MARKETS (PTY) LTD.

AssetVault Recovery therefore considers 24Markets / 24markets.com a high-risk platform that investors should avoid. Anyone who has already transferred money should avoid compounding the situation with further payments until the transaction history and any withdrawal demands have been independently reviewed.

The immediate objective should be to establish the actual movement of funds: where bank transfers were received, where cryptocurrency was sent, what payment instructions were provided and what happened when withdrawal was requested.
