Sygnum Global (sygnumglobal.co) Scam Warning: Website Claims FCA Regulation — FCA Says Unauthorised
Is Sygnum Global legitimate? Is sygnumglobal.co regulated? And should investors trust the regulatory claims displayed on the website?
Those questions have become particularly important following an official warning concerning Sygnum Global (sygnumglobal.co). What makes this case unusual is not simply that a financial regulator has warned about the platform. It is the apparent contradiction between what the website tells potential investors and what the regulator itself says.
The website associated with Sygnum Global presents regulatory language that could reassure someone considering depositing money. Its terms state that entities described as “Sygnum Global UK plc” and “Sygnum Global Spreadbet plc” are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
But on 21 August 2026, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published a warning identifying Sygnum Global and sygnumglobal.co and stating that the firm is not authorised.
The Website Says Regulated. The FCA Says Unauthorised.
This is the central issue investors should understand.
At the time of AssetVault’s review, Sygnum Global’s website contained language claiming that named entities associated with the operation are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The website also discusses spread betting, CFDs, deposits and withdrawals and displays language relating to financial-services protections.
Someone encountering those statements without checking an independent source could reasonably believe they were dealing with a regulated financial operation.
The official regulatory record tells a different story.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) identifies:
- Name: Sygnum Global
- Website: sygnumglobal.co
- Telephone: +44 7346 461516, +44 7520 684541, +44 7441 428543
- Warning date: 21 August 2026
- Regulatory status: Unauthorised
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) says Sygnum Global may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission, may be targeting people in the UK, and advises consumers to avoid dealing with the firm and beware of scams.
Why Investors Should Never Verify a Broker Using the Broker’s Own Website
The Sygnum Global case demonstrates an important weakness in the way many people research online investments.
If a website says it is regulated, checking another page on the same website does not independently verify that claim.
Regulatory status should be checked directly with the authority supposedly providing the licence.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) specifically cautions that unauthorised firms may provide incorrect contact information or use details belonging to another business or individual so that the information appears genuine.
This risk has appeared in different forms across previous AssetVault investigations. Our report on Ellington Trade / Prime Capital LLC, for example, demonstrated why investors need to establish the exact relationship between company identities, websites and regulatory records rather than assuming similarly presented details belong together.
Is Sygnum Global a Scam?
Someone who has already deposited money through sygnumglobal.co is unlikely to be searching for technical regulatory terminology. They may simply be asking: “Have I been scammed by Sygnum Global?”
An official regulatory warning is not the same as a criminal conviction or court finding of fraud. AssetVault therefore does not present allegations as judicially proven facts.
However, the scam risk cannot reasonably be ignored.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has identified the exact sygnumglobal.co domain, states that Sygnum Global is unauthorised and tells consumers to avoid the operation and beware of scams. At the same time, the website itself presents language claiming regulatory authorisation.
That contradiction is a serious warning sign and should be resolved independently before an investor considers sending money, cryptocurrency or identification documents.
A similar principle appeared in AssetVault’s investigation into Franklin National Reserve: professional financial terminology and an authoritative identity should never replace independent regulatory verification.
What If Sygnum Global Shows Profits but Won’t Let You Withdraw?
For an existing investor, regulatory questions can become much more urgent when a withdrawal is requested.
If an account displays profits but the money cannot actually be withdrawn, the displayed balance should not automatically be treated as evidence that those funds exist.
Be particularly cautious if you are told another payment is necessary before your withdrawal can be processed. That demand might be described as a tax, compliance charge, insurance payment, account verification, commission or liquidity requirement.
If you are experiencing a Sygnum Global withdrawal problem, do not send additional money solely because a representative says doing so will unlock the existing balance. Verify the demand independently first.
Withdrawal barriers have featured repeatedly in reports involving questionable investment platforms. Our earlier investigation into Westyn Gainvale explored why the point at which an investor tries to retrieve their money can reveal risks that were not obvious when the initial deposit was made.
What Protection Exists If Something Goes Wrong?
Sygnum Global’s regulatory status also changes the consumer-protection picture.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) says someone dealing with the firm would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they wanted to complain.
The regulator also says consumers would not receive protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if things went wrong.
This is particularly significant when a website uses regulatory or compensation-related language that could give an investor confidence. The protection that matters is the protection independently confirmed by the relevant authority — not simply the protection described on an investment website.
Our previous investigation into Witzeltrading Market provides another example of why authorisation should be independently established before an investor relies on the protections normally associated with regulated financial services.
Already Sent Money to Sygnum Global? Keep the Evidence
If you believe you may have fallen victim to an investment scam through sygnumglobal.co, preserve the evidence before communication disappears or account access changes.
Keep emails, telephone numbers, WhatsApp or Telegram conversations, screenshots of your account, withdrawal requests, payment instructions and any documents sent to you.
For bank transfers, retain beneficiary names, account numbers and payment references. For cryptocurrency, preserve the transaction hash and sending and receiving wallet addresses.
A blockchain transaction record can sometimes help establish how cryptocurrency moved after leaving an investor’s wallet. It does not guarantee recovery, but losing the transaction information can make later investigation considerably more difficult.
Investors should also be careful about people who subsequently promise guaranteed recovery for another upfront payment. AssetVault’s investigation into crypto platforms identified in European scam warnings illustrates why verification remains necessary even after someone has already experienced an investment loss.
For certain payments, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) also points consumers toward protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) for qualifying scam payments made on or after 7 October 2024.
The Question Sygnum Global Investors Should Resolve First
Before analysing promised returns, trading strategies or account performance, there is a more fundamental issue to resolve:
Why does sygnumglobal.co present claims of FCA regulation when the FCA’s own warning identifies Sygnum Global and the same domain as unauthorised?
That discrepancy deserves independent verification before any further money is transferred.
At the time of this investigation, AssetVault did not identify sufficient evidence of another national financial regulator independently issuing a warning against the exact Sygnum Global / sygnumglobal.co operation. We therefore will not inflate the regulatory record by presenting third-party scam databases or copied warnings as separate regulatory actions.
The confirmed Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) warning is serious enough: Sygnum Global is identified as unauthorised, and consumers are advised to avoid dealing with it and beware of scams.
