Investor Alert: DFSA Warns Against Fraudulent Websites safacapitalltd.com, safacapltd.com & webtrader.safacapitalltd.online

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has issued an official investor alert warning the public about a scam involving the fraudulent websites safacapitalltd.com, safacapltd.com, and webtrader.safacapitalltd.online.

According to the DFSA, fraudsters are impersonating both the regulator itself and Safa Capital Limited, a legitimate DFSA-authorised firm, in an attempt to deceive investors into believing they are dealing with a licensed financial institution. The regulator has advised the public not to send money, respond to communications, or conduct business through these websites.

DFSA Confirms the Websites Are Part of a Scam

In its official alert, the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) identified the following websites as being connected to the scam:

  • safacapitalltd.com
  • safacapltd.com
  • webtrader.safacapitalltd.online

The DFSA explained that the scammers copied the identity of Safa Capital Limited, including the firm’s name, address, DFSA Firm Reference Number and branding, while also using a fake DFSA email address and a counterfeit DFSA digital seal to create the false impression that the operation was genuine.

The regulator further stated that it never requests advance payments or fees relating to investments held with DFSA-authorised firms and urged investors to ignore any communication connected with the fraudulent websites.

IOSCO Also Published the Regulatory Warning

The DFSA alert has also been published through the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) – International Securities & Commodities Alerts Network (I-SCAN).

IOSCO’s I-SCAN database shares official investor warnings issued by financial regulators worldwide, helping investors identify firms and websites that have become the subject of regulatory alerts in different jurisdictions. The inclusion of the DFSA warning within IOSCO further increases international awareness of the scam.

Always Verify Before You Invest

Sophisticated scammers often impersonate well-known financial regulators and licensed firms to gain credibility. Before investing or opening an account with any financial institution, it is essential to verify its regulatory status independently.

Investors should consult trusted regulatory resources such as the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), FINMA, Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Additional research using platforms such as Reddit and FastBull may also provide useful insight into investor experiences. However, official regulatory warnings should always be regarded as the most reliable source when evaluating the legitimacy of any financial platform.

How to Recognise an Impersonation Scam

Fraudsters frequently attempt to gain investors’ trust by copying the identity of legitimate organisations. Warning signs include:

  • Websites that closely resemble those of licensed financial firms.
  • Emails claiming to come from regulators or authorised firms using unofficial domains.
  • Fake licences, registration numbers, or regulatory logos.
  • Requests for advance payments, verification fees, taxes, or release fees.
  • Pressure to invest or transfer funds immediately.
  • Claims that your funds can only be accessed after paying additional charges.

Whenever you receive unexpected investment offers, independently verify the firm’s details through the official regulator before taking any action.

What Should You Do If You Have Used These Websites?

If you have interacted with safacapitalltd.com, safacapltd.com, or webtrader.safacapitalltd.online:

  • Stop sending additional money immediately.
  • Save all emails, chat messages, contracts, payment receipts, wallet addresses, and transaction records.
  • Notify your bank, payment provider, or cryptocurrency exchange without delay.
  • Report the incident to your local financial regulator and law enforcement authorities.
  • Be cautious of anyone promising guaranteed recovery services in exchange for upfront fees.

Early reporting and proper documentation may improve the chances of investigating the matter.
