Surecover Group Ltd (surecovergroup.co.uk) Scam Warning: FCA Tells Consumers to Avoid Firm

Surecover Group Ltd (surecovergroup.co.uk) has been placed on the UK’s financial warning list, creating an important question for consumers who may already have purchased a product, provided payment information or been contacted by the company: is Surecover Group Ltd legitimate, and what should you do if you have already paid?

On 21 August 2026, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published an official warning stating that Surecover Group Ltd may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) says the firm is not authorised, may be targeting people in the UK, and advises consumers to avoid dealing with the firm and beware of scams.

What the Surecover Group Ltd Warning Actually Identifies

Unlike warnings involving anonymous websites with little more than an email address, the regulatory notice provides several specific identifiers for Surecover Group Ltd.

  • Name: Surecover Group Ltd
  • Website: surecovergroup.co.uk
  • Address: 19 New Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 1UF
  • Telephone: 0800 029 1894
  • Email: hello@surecovergroup.co.uk
  • Regulatory status: Unauthorised

These details matter because consumers investigating a possible Surecover Group scam should compare the information they personally received with the identifiers published by the regulator.

But an address, website and registered-looking company identity should never be mistaken for financial authorisation. Our previous investigation into Coinlinkinv.cc examined the same fundamental problem from an investment perspective: professional presentation does not establish permission to provide regulated financial services.

One Telephone Number Appears in Two FCA Warnings

There is an unusual detail in this case that consumers should know about.

The telephone number identified by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) for Surecover Group Ltd is 0800 029 1894.

The same telephone number appears in the separate warning issued by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) against Cover Your Bubble Limited (coveryourbubble.uk). Both warnings were published on 21 August 2026.

That is a factual overlap worth documenting. It is not sufficient evidence by itself to prove that the two businesses have the same owners, management or operators. Telephone infrastructure can be shared or supplied through third parties, and AssetVault will not claim a relationship that has not been established by evidence.

Nevertheless, if you were contacted from 0800 029 1894, preserve the call history, messages and the company name the caller used. If different business identities were presented during separate conversations, keep evidence of each one.

Is Surecover Group Ltd a Scam?

People rarely search regulatory terminology after losing money. They search questions such as “Is Surecover Group Ltd a scam?”, “Is surecovergroup.co.uk legit?” or “How do I get my money back from Surecover?”

The regulatory evidence needs to be described accurately.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has not published a criminal judgment declaring Surecover Group Ltd guilty of fraud. It has, however, confirmed that the firm is unauthorised and expressly tells consumers to avoid dealing with it and beware of scams.

That is a substantial warning sign.

It also illustrates why consumers should verify financial businesses through independent regulatory records rather than relying entirely on information supplied by the business itself. AssetVault’s investigation into Bull Markets Today (bullmarkets.today) demonstrated the same principle in another jurisdiction: the regulatory record can reveal information that isn’t obvious from a website’s presentation.

Why the Contact Details Matter

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) specifically warns that unauthorised firms may provide incorrect postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses. Those details may change over time.

The regulator also warns that information belonging to another business or individual can be presented to consumers so that an operation appears genuine.

That is why due diligence should go beyond searching a company name on Google.

Check the exact domain. Check the telephone number. Check the email address. Check who received the payment. And, where regulated financial activity is involved, verify the business independently with the relevant authority.

This type of identity verification also featured in our investigation into FinnsMotion (finnsmotion.com), where regulatory information provided a clearer picture of the operation than marketing claims alone.

Already Paid Surecover Group Ltd?

If you have already made a payment to Surecover Group Ltd, the existence of the warning does not mean you should immediately send more money to someone promising to recover it.

Start with the evidence you already have.

Keep bank statements, card transactions, invoices, contracts, emails, call records and screenshots. Record the telephone numbers used to contact you and preserve any messages discussing refunds, cancellation, insurance, compensation or additional payments.

If you believe you were scammed, contact your bank or card provider promptly and explain exactly what happened. The payment method, timing and circumstances can affect what options are available.

And be cautious about secondary recovery scams. People who have already lost money can be targeted again by individuals claiming they can guarantee recovery if another upfront fee is paid.

Our investigation into Obsidiate explored how fraudulent financial relationships can begin through direct contact and gradually build trust before larger financial commitments are requested. The lesson applies beyond investment scams: unexpected financial approaches deserve independent verification before payment.

What Protection Do Consumers Lose With an Unauthorised Firm?

The regulatory status has practical consequences.

According to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), consumers dealing with Surecover Group Ltd would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they wanted to complain.

They would also not receive protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if things went wrong.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) additionally notes that people who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may, depending on their circumstances and payment method, be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR).

Loss of regulatory protection is something we have examined repeatedly across different forms of financial fraud. Our investigation into CBEX / Crypto Bridge Exchange, for example, demonstrates how difficult matters can become once consumers place money with an operation outside the regulatory safeguards they expected.

Don’t Ignore the Warning Because the Website Looks Genuine

The central issue is not whether surecovergroup.co.uk looks professional or whether somebody answering the telephone sounds credible.

The question is whether the financial activity being offered has the required regulatory permission.

The current position published by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is clear: Surecover Group Ltd is not authorised.

Consumers researching Surecover Group Ltd should therefore take the official warning seriously before making payments or providing additional personal or financial information.

Our earlier report on six crypto platforms identified in an FSMA fraudulent-provider warning reinforces a broader point that applies here as well: checking regulatory status before sending money is considerably easier than trying to reconstruct what happened after money has already moved.
