Kubera Capital Markets (kuberamarkets.com): Alberta Regulator Raises Investor Caution

Kubera Capital Markets Ltd. presents itself as an internationally regulated provider of margin foreign-exchange trading, but a new Canadian regulatory warning raises an important question for anyone who encountered the platform from Alberta: was Kubera authorized to provide the investment services being offered to you?

On September 17, 2026, the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) added Kubera Capital Markets Ltd. to its Investment Caution List and identified the exact website kuberamarkets.com.

The regulator states that Kubera Capital Markets Ltd. is not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives in Alberta. The ASC recommends that investors should not deal with firms that are not registered because there is no assurance of investor protections.

There is another detail investors should know. Kubera’s own documentation claims authorization in Labuan, Malaysia for money-broking activities, but another company document expressly lists Canada among jurisdictions where it says it does not offer Contracts for Difference (CFDs).

AssetVault Recovery therefore considers kuberamarkets.com a high-risk investment website for Canadian investors and a platform that should not be used by Alberta residents in circumstances covered by the ASC warning. Anyone who has already transferred money should preserve the transaction trail before making further payments.

Already paid/invested with kuberamarkets.com? Preserve the payment trail and submit your transaction information for review, and recovery options.

No upfront recovery fees. Fees are payable only after a successful recovery.

What the Alberta Securities Commission Says

The Alberta Securities Commission identifies both the company and website clearly:

  • Company: Kubera Capital Markets Ltd.
  • Website: kuberamarkets.com
  • Date added: September 17, 2026
  • Alberta registration: Not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives

This is an important distinction. The ASC does not state in this particular notice that Kubera has no regulatory status anywhere in the world. Its finding concerns Kubera’s registration status in Alberta.

That matters because financial authorization is jurisdiction-specific. Holding a licence for one type of activity in one country does not automatically authorize a company to provide securities, derivatives or investment services to customers elsewhere.

Kubera Claims Regulation in Labuan, Malaysia

Kubera’s own Product Disclosure Statement identifies the business as Kubera Capital Markets Ltd., incorporated in the Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia under company number LL17507.

The document says Kubera is authorized by the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA) to conduct money-broking business under Malaysian legislation.

Kubera describes the permitted money-broking activity as bringing counterparties together on mutually acceptable terms in money or foreign-exchange markets and receiving brokerage or commission fees.

Its own disclosure also states something particularly important: a money broker acts as a mediator and is strictly prohibited from acting as principal, meaning it should not deal for its own account and risk.

The same document says Kubera specializes in providing Margin FX contracts through an online trading system.

Kubera’s Own Document Says It Does Not Offer CFDs in Canada

This is where the Alberta warning becomes more interesting.

A complaint form published on kuberamarkets.com identifies Kubera as company LL17507 and gives Labuan FSA licence number MB/21/0086.

But the same Kubera document states that the company does not offer Contracts for Difference to residents of certain jurisdictions and specifically includes Canada in that list, alongside the United States and several other countries.

That creates an obvious verification question for any Canadian investor who nevertheless opened an account, was solicited, deposited funds or traded CFDs through Kubera.

How did a Canadian resident come to receive the service if Kubera’s own documentation says CFDs are not offered to Canadian residents?

The answer will depend on the individual circumstances. AssetVault is not assuming that every visitor to the website was solicited by Kubera. But Canadian clients should preserve evidence showing how their accounts were opened and what services were actually offered.

Foreign Regulation Does Not Override the ASC Warning

An investor may see the Labuan licence information and assume it resolves the Canadian regulatory concern. It does not.

The relevant question for an Alberta investor is not simply whether Kubera claims authorization somewhere.

It is whether the firm is authorized to provide the particular investment service to that investor in Alberta.

The ASC answers its part of that question directly: Kubera Capital Markets Ltd. is not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives in Alberta.

This jurisdictional distinction also appeared in our Tag Markets investigation, where offshore regulatory claims had to be considered separately from authorization requirements in jurisdictions where investors were located.

Margin FX and CFDs Carry Significant Risk

Kubera’s own documents acknowledge that CFDs are complex products traded on margin and that leverage can cause investors to lose money rapidly.

That creates two separate issues.

The first is ordinary trading risk. A legitimate leveraged trade can lose money because the market moves against the investor.

The second is regulatory and counterparty risk: who is providing the service, what authorization applies, who received the investor’s money and what protections are available if a withdrawal or account dispute occurs.

The ASC warning concerns this second issue for Alberta investors.

If You Used Kubera From Canada, Preserve How the Relationship Started

Because Kubera’s own document lists Canada among jurisdictions where CFDs are not offered, Canadian users should preserve evidence showing exactly how they reached the platform.

Keep:

  • Advertisements that led you to Kubera
  • Referral or affiliate links
  • Emails and account-opening correspondence
  • WhatsApp or Telegram conversations
  • Telephone numbers used by representatives
  • Account-opening and KYC documents
  • Evidence showing the country and address supplied during registration
  • Trading statements and account history

If a representative knew you were resident in Canada, preserve any messages demonstrating that fact.

Follow Your Actual Payment Trail

If you have already deposited with kuberamarkets.com and are concerned about your account, start with the money that actually left your possession rather than the balance displayed inside the trading portal.

For bank payments, preserve the beneficiary name, receiving institution, account number, payment reference, amount and date.

For cryptocurrency, preserve the TXID, receiving wallet address, blockchain network, amount, date and exchange withdrawal record.

This approach is important because an independently verifiable transaction provides evidence of where funds actually moved. AssetVault used the same transaction-first approach in our GoldPrideHoldings investigation and our Veld Luxaris investigation.

Having Trouble With a Withdrawal?

If you have requested a withdrawal and are being told to send additional money first, preserve the request before making another payment.

Save any demand described as a tax, compliance charge, margin requirement, insurance payment, wallet activation fee, commission, AML fee or blockchain release charge.

Also preserve the bank account or cryptocurrency wallet where the additional payment is supposed to go.

Do not assume that a further payment will release the balance shown in your account merely because the demand uses financial or regulatory terminology.

As we explained in our Corpholding investigation, real payment records and communications can become considerably more important than representations displayed inside an online investment account.

AssetVault’s Assessment of Kubera Capital Markets

This case requires more precision than simply saying Kubera is “unregulated.”

Kubera Capital Markets Ltd. publishes documentation claiming incorporation in Labuan and authorization by the Labuan Financial Services Authority for money-broking activities.

However, the Alberta Securities Commission now warns that Kubera is not registered to trade in or advise on securities or derivatives in Alberta.

Even more importantly for Canadian users, Kubera’s own published complaint documentation says it does not offer CFDs to residents of Canada.

Those facts should not be blurred together. An offshore money-broking authorization does not automatically confer Canadian securities or derivatives registration.

For AssetVault, the ASC warning makes kuberamarkets.com a serious regulatory red flag for Canadian investors. Anyone in Alberta who was nevertheless offered trading or investment services through the platform should stop before committing additional funds and preserve evidence showing exactly how the relationship began.

Need Help With a Kubera Capital Markets Transaction?

If you have already transferred money or cryptocurrency through Kubera and are concerned about a withdrawal, account activity or how the platform was offered to you, preserve your transaction and communication records.

Request a confidential case assessment and have your Kubera Capital Markets transaction trail reviewed.

Submit your bank records, wallet addresses, TXIDs and supporting communications for review and recovery options.

Transaction analysis may help identify banks, exchanges, payment processors, cryptocurrency wallets or other counterparties appearing in the payment path. Tracing funds does not itself guarantee recovery.

No upfront recovery fees. Fees are payable only after a successful recovery.
