Orbisbank / orbisbank.org: Banking Claims Meet a FINMA Warning
A website calling itself a bank should be able to withstand basic regulatory verification.
Orbisbank, operating through orbisbank.org, presents itself as a financial institution offering online accounts, international transfers and investment services from an address in Zürich.
But Switzerland’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) has placed Orbisbank / orbisbank.org on its public warning list and records the operation as not entered in the Swiss Commercial Register.
That warning was published on 22 October 2026.
For anyone considering opening an account, transferring money or investing through the website, that discrepancy deserves far more attention than the banking language used on the site.

What FINMA Records About Orbisbank
The Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) identifies:
- Name: Orbisbank / orbisbank.org
- Website: www.orbisbank.org
- Address: Scheuchzerstrasse, 8006 Zürich
- Commercial Register: not entered in the Swiss Commercial Register
The regulator does not publish additional allegations or specify a particular financial product in the warning-list entry.
That distinction is important.
AssetVault does not extend the warning beyond what FINMA actually states.
However, the absence of a Swiss Commercial Register entry becomes especially relevant when the website itself presents Orbisbank as an established banking institution operating from Zürich.
What orbisbank.org Says It Offers
The live Orbisbank website presents a broad range of banking and investment services.
Among the services advertised are:
- Online bank accounts
- Savings and current accounts
- International money transfers
- Investment products
- Financial advisory services
The website also promotes an investment product described as “PLAZO 30,” which it says offers investment returns over a one-month period.
Elsewhere, the site claims Orbisbank has a presence in 20 countries and US$715 billion in assets under custody, while providing clearing, order execution and foreign-exchange services across multiple markets.
Those are claims made by the website itself. They are not findings verified by FINMA.
That is where independent verification becomes essential.
AssetVault has seen the same gap between polished financial presentation and the underlying regulatory record in investigations involving Finanzbase AG and Swiss Investment Company SA.
A Strange Detail Inside the Website
AssetVault also found an unusual inconsistency on the Orbisbank homepage.
One section says:
“Orbis Bank” offers clearing services across more than 60 markets, order execution in 45 markets and foreign-exchange services in more than 50 currencies.
Immediately afterward, substantially the same statement appears again — but this time referring to “Banco Central Custodio.”
That does not appear to match the Orbisbank name used elsewhere on the website.
An isolated website inconsistency does not prove fraud. But when a financial website is already listed by FINMA and is presenting itself as a bank, unexplained copied or mismatched institutional language becomes relevant to due diligence.
This type of inconsistency is one reason investors should verify financial institutions independently rather than relying only on what appears on the company’s own website.
A Zürich Address Is Not Enough
The Orbisbank website gives the address:
Scheuchzerstrasse, 8006 Zürich, Switzerland
That is the same location recorded by FINMA.
But an address alone does not establish that the operation is a registered Swiss bank or regulated financial institution.
The more important fact is that FINMA’s warning-list entry records Orbisbank as not entered in the Swiss Commercial Register.
This is particularly significant where the website uses language associated with banking, custody, investments and international financial services.
AssetVault has examined similar Swiss regulatory discrepancies in cases such as Corpholding and Future AU.
If You Already Sent Money
If you have already opened an account, transferred funds or invested after dealing with Orbisbank or orbisbank.org, preserve your payment records, communications, account screenshots and withdrawal correspondence.
Do not send additional money simply because you are told another payment is required before existing funds can be released.
The real transaction trail matters more than balances or investment figures displayed inside an online banking interface.
AssetVault Assessment
The most important evidence in this case comes from FINMA.
The Swiss regulator has placed Orbisbank / orbisbank.org on its warning list, identifies the Zürich address used by the website and records the operation as not entered in the Swiss Commercial Register.
Separately, the website presents itself as a bank offering accounts, international transfers, investment products and financial advisory services, while making substantial claims about international operations and assets under custody.
AssetVault also found inconsistent institutional wording on the website, including a reference to “Banco Central Custodio” inside content otherwise presented as Orbisbank material.
Those website observations are separate from FINMA’s official findings.
Based on the warning-list entry and the discrepancy between the website’s banking presentation and FINMA’s commercial-register record, AssetVault considers Orbisbank / orbisbank.org a high-risk financial operation requiring substantial caution.

Disclaimer
This investigation reports information published by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) and separately examines publicly accessible information appearing on orbisbank.org.
FINMA identifies Orbisbank / orbisbank.org, records the Scheuchzerstrasse, Zürich address and states that the operation is not entered in the Swiss Commercial Register.
References to bank accounts, international transfers, investment products, assets under custody and the “Banco Central Custodio” wording are observations from the Orbisbank website and should not be attributed to the regulator.
